WANTED: Crew Leaders for Organic Weed Control in Teton Valley & Jackson Hole

Landganics is hiring 2-3 fit, outdoorsy Crew Leaders for the summer season to help manage small teams in treating weeds organically in the breathtaking Teton Valley and Jackson Hole areas.

Job Summary & Responsibilities

As a Crew Leader, you will:

  • Independently manage a small weed control crew.

  • Meet with customers to assess priorities and ensure work meets their expectations.

  • Identify and remove noxious weeds using organic herbicides and manual removal.

  • Hand-seed native plant species as needed.

  • Oversee quality control, supervise crew operations, and maintain daily records.

This is a physically active role, perfect for individuals eager to gain experience in crew management, plant identification, and native plant revegetation methods while working in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.

Pay

  • $17/hr, increasing to $20/hr after passing the Idaho Applicator Exam.

  • $12.50/day fuel stipend (approx. $600/season).

  • End of season bonus.

Schedule

  • Monday–Thursday, starting at 7 am.

  • Workdays average 8–10 hours.

  • Field season runs May 18 – August 13.

Qualifications

Required

  • Dependable, flexible, and ready to learn.

  • Ability to supervise a team and follow protocols.

  • Capable of interpreting maps and navigating to properties.

  • Eligible to obtain an Idaho Pesticide Applicator License (training provided).

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

  • Physically fit: Capable of manual labor for 8 consecutive hours (e.g., lifting 50 lbs., carrying a 45-lb. pack).

  • Comfortable working long days in inclement weather.

  • Minimum age: 21.

Desired

  • Leadership experience.

  • Knowledge of plant/weed identification.

  • Existing Applicator License (a bonus).
